Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Builds Big Halftime Lead but Falls Short Against York, 91-82

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Men's Basketball Team opened Friday night's home contest versus York with the best first half performance of the season, taking a 47-30 halftime lead over visiting York, but the Bulldogs could not match their effort in the second, falling 91-82.  York improves to 3-2 in CUNYAC play, while BC drops to 1-4.

An Elisha Park 3-pointer built Brooklyn's lead to 17 early, a 29-12 advantage, just over nine minutes into the contest.  While York fought back and cut the deficit to nine, the Bulldogs were able to regain control before the break, and a Kayin Olajide three, and two Zuric Harvey free throws, gave Brooklyn a 5-0 run to end the period and regain their 17 point advantage.

Unfortunately for Brooklyn, the game was a tale of two halves, and York would not be denied in the second, coming all the way back to take the lead with 6:06 to play, on a Guillermo Hernandez bucket.  While Harvey responded immediately for the Bulldogs with a 3-pointer to regain the lead, York's Quran Dublin's 3-pointer with 4:29 remaining, broke a tie and gave the Cardinals a 76-73 lead and seemingly control of the game.

The Cardinals would add on six consecutive points to take an insurmountable, 82-73 advantage.

Dublin would lead York with a game-high 34 points on 13-28 from the field.

Park had a tremendous individual performance for the Bullogs, dropping in 33 points and grabbing 11 boards, to lead his team.  The second-year player knocked down seven three's on the evening.

Zuric Harvey put in an impressive performance as well, with 14 points and 11 assists.

Brooklyn returns to action on Tuesday, traveling to Crown Heights to take on conference rival Medgar Evers.
