Montclair, NJ----The Brooklyn College women's volleyball team earned a split at a non-conference trimatch hosted by Montclair State. BC was victorious in their first match of the afternoon, sweeping Mt. St. Mary, 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 26-24) before falling to the host, 3-0 (26-24, 25-23, 25-14), in the final match of the day. Brooklyn moves to 8-8 overall with the split. Next Up: Brooklyn will open conference play with a trimatch makeup against York and Hunter on Tuesday, October 4, at home beginning at 2pm.
The Rundown
- Brooklyn put together late rallies to take a 2-0 lead in the match against Mt. St. Mary. Trailing 23-19 in the third set, the Bulldogs pu together a 4-0 run to tie the game, BC closed out the match with three straight scores capped by a kill put away by sophomore outside hitter, Aleah Rafat. Brooklyn served up 14 aces to the Knights' four for the match.
- BC overcame back-to-back deficits to go the distance with Montclair State in the first two sets. However, the Red Hawks went on an eight-score rally in the third set to go on for the victory.
