Bulldogs Pick Up First Win of Season Over York, 1-0, in Dramatic Finish at Home

Brooklyn, NY----Creating more and more scoring opportunities as the game wore on, the Brooklyn College men's soccer team pulled off their first win of the season over York in conference play, 1-0, with 18 seconds left in the match on Wednesday.  Brooklyn moves to 1-11-1 and 1-4 in CUNYAC with the win while York drops to 1-6 overall and 0-4 in conference play.  Next Up: BC will look to keep their momentum going on Saturday, Oct. 15, as the Bulldogs host John Jay on Senior Day at 2:30 pm following the women's match against John Jay.  

The Rundown 
  • Freshman midfielder, Yasin Elsammak, scored the game-winner in 90' right of the box on an assist from junior back, Alexander Mishiyev.  
  • Brooklyn out-shot the Cardinals 13-3 in the second half and 20-5 for the match and had a penalty kick saved in 75'.  
Leading the Bulldogs
  • Elsammak finished with a match-high 6 shots with 3 on-goal.  
  • Mishiyev picked up his team-leading third assist of the season.  
  • Jason Martinez earned the first clean sheet of the season for Brooklyn in goal finishing with 3 saves.
