BC Men's Soccer Ties With John Jay in Conference Match on Senior Day, 3-3

Brooklyn, NY---In a rollercoaster of a match, the Brooklyn College men's soccer team played to a 3-3 draw in conference play against John Jay on Saturday at Brooklyn College Field.  Prior to the match, BC seniors, Luis Garcia and Muyinjo Turabov, were recognized by second-year Head Coach, Luis Flores.  Brooklyn moves to 1-11-2 and 1-4-1 in CUNYAC with the tie while the Bloodhounds go to 4-9-1 and 3-3-1.  Next Up: The Bulldogs will have a week to prepare for their regular season finale against Medgar Evers next Saturday, October 22, played at Kongsborough CC.  

The Rundown 
  • Brooklyn jumped out to  2-0 lead in the first half following a penalty kick converted by junior forward, Jordi Hernandez in 28', and freshman midfielder Benedick Augustin's first goal of the match on an assist from freshman back, Matthew Charniak in 36'.  The Bulldogs held a 2-0 advantage at halftime.  
  • John Jay would respond with three unanswered goals to take a 3-2 lead with just under five minutes to play in the match.  
  • Having a knack for late-match heroics this week, BC tied the game in 88' as Augustin scored his second goal of the match on an assist from junior midfielder Alex Mishiyiv.
