Brooklyn, NY----In balanced team effort, the Brooklyn College women's volleyball team swept John Jay, 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-20), on Tuesday at the West Quad Center. Brooklyn improves to 5-1 in CUNYAC and 13-11 overall with the win while the Bloodhounds drop to 4-2 and 11-9. Next Up: BC returns to their non-conference slate on Saturday for a trimatch at William Paterson Unversity where they will take on Maritime and the host.
The Rundown
- John Jay jumped out to a 3-0 lead to start the match before the Bulldogs went on a 9-0 run to take a commanding 15-5 lead never look back. Brooklyn controlled the second set thanks to an 8-2 start. The Bulldogs kept their foot on the gas through the beginning of the third set, taking an 11-3 advantage. However, the Bloodhounds made things interesting and after a five-score rally, only trailed Brooklyn 14-13. BC never allowed John Jay to tie the score and closed out the match with a four-score rally capped by an ace served up by junior libero, Alanis Guinada.

- Tessa Winkleman led the way with a match-high 13 kills to go along with 10 digs for the lone double-double of the match.
- Ruti Joshi served up a match-high seven aces while coming with nine digs.
- Ashley Fung came up with a match-high 17 digs while putting away six kills.

- Reilly Catan and Faith Harer finished with six kills each.
- Meghan Smith led the ground attack with a team-high nine digs.
