Union, NJ----Despite a 30-point effort produced by senior guard, Gianna Gotti, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team was outlasted, 86-71, on the road at Kean on Wednesday.  BC moves to 1-1 with the non-conference loss while the Cougars improve to 2-1 with the victory.  Next Up: Brooklyn travels to Boston to take part in the Emmanuel College Classic where they will take on Bates in their first game of the weekend on Saturday at 1pm.  

The Rundown

• Played closely through the first period, the home team went on a 14-0 run to close out the first half for a 42-27 halftime advantage.  
• BC pulled with in 10 points of Kean in the third period following an 8-0 run capped by three-point play completed by Gotti with 7:43 to go.  However the Cougars responded with a 10-0 run of their own to kick the lead back up to 20 in the next three minutes.  
• Trailing 77-57 with 9:00 to go in the contest, the Bulldogs made one last push with a 12-2 run also capped by a three-point play completed by Gotti.  Kean stopped the bleeding with a three-point with 2:13 to play.  Kean sealed the contest from that point on.  
• Kean shot close to 43% from behind the arc and 87% from the charity stripe on the evening.  The Cougars bench outscored Brooklyn's 22-3 on the night.  

Leading the Bulldogs

• Gotti's game-high 30 points came on 11-26 shooting from the field.  She also grabbed a game-high 12 boards for the only double-double of the contest while also dishing out six assists.  
• Junior guard, Ericka James, also had a standout offensive performance adding 25 points while shooting 5-8 from beyond the arc.  

Leading Kean

• Shannon McCoy scored a team-high 27 points while shooting 5-9 from beyond the arc and a perfect 8-8 from the charity stripe.
