Boston, MA----The Brooklyn College women's basketball team dropped their first game of the Emmanuel College Tip-Off Classic on Saturday to Bates, 74-59. Brooklyn moves to 1-2 with the loss while the Bobcats picked up their first win of the season, improving to 1-1. Next Up: Brooklyn will take on host Emmanuel in rematch of last year's NCAA Tournament 1st Round game where the Bulldogs were victorious for the program's first ever 'Tourney' win. Tip-off is set for 2pm on Sunday.
The Rundown
- Never able to take a little for the contest, Brooklyn trailed Bates by two to three possessions for the majority of the game.
- Trailing by 18 points to start the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs went on a 10-0 run to cut Bates' lead down to 63-55 with 7:51 to go in regulation. However, the Bobcats survived the early storm and were able to keep Brooklyn at bay for the remainder of the contest.
- Bates shot close to 43% from the field for the game to Brooklyn's 27%. The Bobcats also out-rebounded the Bulldogs 62-37.

- Senior guard, Gianna Gotti, scored a team-high 21 points. She just missed her second straight double-double, finishing with 9 rebounds while also coming up with 4 steals.
- Senior guard, Nancy Pham, chipped in 11 points to go along with 5 rebounds.
Leading Bates
- Meghan Graff scored a game-high 23 points on 10-21 shooting from the floor. Delaney Nwachukwu added 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds off of the bench.
