James' 28 Points Propels Bulldogs Over William Paterson, 72-56, at Home

Brooklyn, NY----Led by senior guard Ericka James' game-high 28 points, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team picked up a quality win just before the semester break over William Paterson, 72-56, at the West Quad Center on Tuesday.  BC improves to 4-6 with the win while the Pioneers drop to 6-4.  Next Up: Brooklyn travels to Cabrini University for a non-conference tilt on December 30 at 2:00pm.  

The Rundown
  • With the score tied, 22-22, with 3:17 to go in the second quarter, the Bulldogs went on a 12-0 run to close out the first half.  Freshman guard, Dior Dorsey put the exclamation point on the run with a fastbreak layup in the final seconds of the half.  
  • Brooklyn continued to roll in the second half, opening the third quarter with a 10-0 run to take a commanding 47-25 advantage snapped at the 5:33 mark.  
  • WPU chipped away at BC's lead and found themselves trailing 53-45 heading in to the final quarter.  
  • Every time the Pioneers inched closer in the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs had an answer.  A James three in the final minute of play, sealed the victory as the Bulldogs would go up 70-56 with :22 seconds remaining.  
  • BC dominated the offensive boards on the evening, grabbing 20 to WPU's 6.  
  • Brooklyn doubled up the visitors in points off of turnovers finishing with 28 for the contest.

  • James shot 5-9 from beyond the arc and was a perfect 5-5 from the fre throw line. 
  • Senior guard, Gianna Gotti, had another loaded line finishing with 16 points, 9 assists, 8 steals, and 7 rebounds. 
  • Dorsey finished with 9 points including a couple of key buckets and grabbed 7 boards off of the bench.

  • Renee Wells scored a team-high 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. 
  • Mackenzie O'Brien chipped in 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds off of the bench.
