Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College men's basketball team fell on CUNYAC Opening Night at home on Friday to Lehman, 71-52. BC drops to 1-8 overall with the loss while Lehman improves to 5-2 overall. Next Up: The Bulldogs will return to their non-conference slate on Thursday, December 8, at home against Pratt at 7pm.
The Rundown
- After a defensive battle early on, the teams eventually picked things up offensively. Brooklyn grabbed a 16-12 lead following a made lay-up finished by Serge Thraysbule with just over ten minutes to play in the first half. Kayin Olajide gave Brooklyn a 25-21 lead with 4:34 to go before Lehman responded with a 6-1 run. Elisha Park gave BC their final lead of the game on made three with 2:34 remaining in the first half. Lehman closed out the first half on a 4-0 run.
- Lehman continued their run into the second half with five unanswered points. The Lightning took their first double-digit lead (11 points) of the game with 16 minutes remaining in the contest. Lehman would go on to lead by as many as 22 points in the second half.
- The Lightning got a big boost off of their bench, outscoring Brooklyn's 35-13. Brooklyn was also out-rebounded 54-28 for the game.
- Lehman had three different players turn in double-doubles on the night.
Leading the Bulldogs
- Elisha Park scored a game-high 20 points on 50% shooting from the floor inlcuding 3-6 from beyond the arc. He also grabbed 10 rebounds for the team's lone double-double.
- Olajide added 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
Leading the Lightning
- Will Feldman scored 14 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out 6 assists.
- Kai Paris came off of the bench to score 14 points and grab 11 rebounds.
- Isaiah Geathers scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
