Park's Double-Double Lifts Brooklyn Over Pratt in Borough Battle, 83-74

Brooklyn, NY----BC senior forward, Elisha Park scored 18 points and grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds to help the Brooklyn College men's basketball defeat Pratt Institute, 83-74, at the West Quad Center on Thursday.  Brooklyn improves to 2-8 with the win while the Cannoneers drop to 3-9.  Next Up: The Bulldogs travel to Ramapo College on Tuesday for a non-conference tilt at 7:30 pm.  

The Rundown
  • Keeping a lead the entire contest, the Bulldogs opened the game on a 6-0 run capped by a dunk thrown down by sophomore guard, Serge Thraysbule
  • The Bulldogs grabbed their first double-figure lead (14-3) following a three splashed by sophomore guard, David McFadden, with 14:46 to go in the first half. Pratt cut BC's lead down to 24-20 with 7:14 left in the first half.  However, the Bulldogs responded with a 16-5 run over the next six minutes sparked by a made three buried by junior guard, Malik Dale. Brooklyn would head into halftime with 40-27 advantage.  
  • Brooklyn extended their lead to as many as 20 points (51-31) with a little over 16 minutes to go in regulation.  Pratt wouldn't go away and steadily chipped away at the Bulldogs' lead for the remainder of the second half.  However, the Bulldogs solidified the win with a couple of key free throw makes down the stretch.  
  • The Bulldogs shot 49% from the field including 50% from beyond the arc on the evening while keeping Pratt to 42% and 37% respectively.  
  • Five players reached double-figures in scoring for Brooklyn.  
Leading the Bulldogs 
  • Park shot 7-13 from the field on the night including 3-4 from behind the arc.  He also added 6 assists to his standout performance. 
  • Dale scored 17 points off of the bench including 4-6 shooting from beyond the arc.  
  • Thraysbule chipped in 13 points and dished out 6 assists. 
  • McFadden and senior guard, Kayin Olajide, added 11 points each.  
Leading Pratt 
  • Ace Bibbs scored a team-high 18 points. 
  • Cameron Hatcher had the team's double-double, finishing with 15 points and 11 boards.
