Bulldogs Fall in Regular Season Finale at York

Jamaica, NY----Despite a second half rally, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team wasn't able to overcome a slow start, eventually falling to York College, 93-68, in their regular season finale on Tuesday.  Brooklyn closes out the regular season with a 3-21 overall mark and 2-12 in CUNYAC with the conference loss on the road.  York improves to 12-10 overall and 10-4 in the conference with the victory.  The Bulldogs will now prepare for their First Round matchup in the upcoming CUNYAC Championship tournament on Saturday, February 19.  

Falling behind 8-0 to start the contest, the Bulldogs found themselves playing catchup the remainder of the game.  Brooklyn would claw their way back to a 10-8 disadvantage with an 8-2 run of their capped by a made jumper buried by junior guard, Kayin Olajide with 15:55 to go in the first half.  However, the Cardinals would retake control of the game and take a 55-39 halftime lead.  

After trailing by as many as 19 points in the first five minutes of the second, the Bulldogs made one last push with a 9-0 run following back-to-back three-point makes by Olajide that cut the York lead to 65-57 with 12:12 left in regulation.  The Cardinals weathered the storm and thanks to a 6-1 run, kicked their lead back to 13 with just under eleven minutes to go in regulation.  They would go on to lead by as many as 27 points in the second half.  

Olajide went off for a career-high 33 points to lead all scorers to go along with five rebounds and six steals.  Senior guard, Noah Shy added 12 points and sophomore forward, Elisha Park chipped in 10 for BC.  

Five Cardinals reached double-digit scoring on the evening led by Quran Dublin's 18 points and 10 assists.  Mambe Koureissi also had a double-double for YC finishing with 14 points and 11 boards.
