Box Score Purchase, NY----The Brooklyn College women's basketball team closed out the 2021-22 regular season with a non-conference win at Purchase College on Thursday, 99-25. BC moves to 19-3 overall with the win while the Panthers drop to 2-20 with the loss. The #1 seed in the upcoming CUNYAC Championship tourney, the Bulldogs will host the winner of Hunter and York in the semifinals on Tuesday, 2/22, at the West Quad Center. Tip-off is set for 6pm.
Grabbing the lead for good on their first possession of the contest with a made three buried by junior guard,
Ericka James, the Bulldogs closed out the opening quarter with on a 16-2 run for a 26-7 advantage. James finished with a game-high 26 points, in only 17 minutes of action, while knocking down 8-12 from beyond the arc.
Brooklyn continued to cruise with 10 Bulldogs scoring on the evening. Freshman guard,
Brianna Gutierrez, playing on her birthday, scored a career-high 17 points in 24 minutes off of the bench. Senior forward,
Chanel Jemmott, managed her eleventh double-double of the season finishing with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
The Bulldogs dominated all facets of the game tonight including rebounding, out-boarding the Panthers 63-24. Junior forward,
Sarah James, grabbed a career-high 19 rebounds on the evening.
BC junior guard,
Gianna Gotti, dished out a game-high seven assists and came up with eight steals.
Purchase was led by Miya Ritchie's team-high 11 points.
