Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Men's Basketball Team saluted current senior
Noah Shy and 2021 senior Nico Serranno prior to Wednesday night's game against Hunter. The Hawks were able to hold onto the win, after a furious Brooklyn comeback fell just short, 105-100.
Brooklyn took an early 22-17, but trailed 43-41 going into the locker room. The second half saw the Hawks heat up, as they scored 30 points in just under 6 minutes of action, to open up a 73-52 advantage.
The Bulldogs would answer, as a
Zuric Harvey layup would cut the deficit all the way down to 6, 88-82, with 4:52 remaining. Brooklyn wouldn't be able to make more of a dent in the Hunter lead, until another Harvey basket with 11 second remaining made it 101-97.
Shy led the Bulldogs with 27 points and a career-high 16 boards. The four-year senior, who was playing his final game at West Quad, had a tremendous career, as a 1,000 point scorer, and a conference champion in 2020.
Elisha Park added 25 points, while
Kayin Olajide, just missed a triple-double with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists.
Gene Propper led Hunter with 17 points.
Brooklyn will head out on the road on Friday for a big battle with CCNY as the teams are currently tied in the CUNYAC standings.
