Brooklyn, NY----The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team dropped their fourth straight conference on Saturday, falling to CUNYAC leader, Baruch, 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-11). Brooklyn moves to 4-11 overall and 1-5 in CUNYAC with the loss while the Bearcats improve to 9-9 and remain undefeated (7-0) in confernce play. The Bulldogs will look to bounce back on the road with another conference match on Tuesday at Lehman College at 7pm. Brooklyn will be back home on March 24 to host York at 6pm.
Brooklyn senior middle hitter,
David Li, led the Bulldogs on the attack finishing with a team-high 5 kills. Sophomore setter,
Admir Cekic, finished the match with a team-high 16 assists. Senior libero,
Brian Fok, led Brooklyn on the ground defensively with a team-high 14 digs.
Baruch had a well-balanced attack led by Michael Higgins' match-high 7 kills. Carlos Rodriguez and Defeng Han added five kills each. Han also finished with 5 blocks on the afternoon.
The Bearcats finished with an advantage in every statistical category including blocks, finishing with 10 denials to the Bulldogs' three.
Brooklyn would lead early in every set before Baruch was able to put together steady rallies that kept the Bulldogs playing catch-up the entire match.
