Bulldogs Sweep Cardinals on the Road in Conference Play

Jamaica, NY----The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team cruised to a conference sweep at York, 3-0 (25-11, 25-12, 25-17), in conference action on Monday.  Brooklyn takes the home-and-home series without losing a set.  The Bulldogs improve to 6-13 overall and 3-7 in CUNYAC with the win while the Cardinals drop to 0-13 and 0-9.  BC will be back at it at home on Tuesday for another conference matchup against John Jay at the West Quad Center at 6pm.  

Zhao Ming Li led BC's offensive attack finishing with a match-high seven kills to go along with a block.  Sophomore setter, Admir Cekic, had a well-rounded line finishing with four kills, 29 assists, six service aces, and four digs.  Aziz Abdumasiev and Omar Rezika added six kills each in the winning effort for Brooklyn.  

After York scored the first point of the match, the Bulldogs responded with a 9-0 run rally sparked by a Cekic kill.  Brooklyn kept their foot on the gas in the seond set, jumping out to an 11-4 lead before closing out the set with nine straight scores.  The Bulldogs continued to cruise in the third set, doubling up the Cardinals 18-9 at one point and ending the match on a Rezika kill.  

Brooklyn served up 12 aces to York's two on the evening.  

David Heyliger Jr. led York with a team-high six kills.
