Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College softball team rolled to a pair of 12-0 wins over Yeshiva University for their first victories of the season on Tuesday. BC improves to 2-8 overall with the non-conference wins while Yeshiva drops to 0-9. Brooklyn will look to keep their momentum going as they return to conference play on the road at Lehman on Thursday beginning 5pm for a CUNYAC double bill.
Picking up her first two wins of the season in the circle on the season,
Danielle Guzzardi (2-8) was dominant throughout the day, pitching all 10 innings, allowing only three hits, while striking out 19 Maccabee batters. She pitched a no-hitter in Game 2.
In the first game of the day, the Bulldogs jumped on the Macs in their first at-bat, scoring six runs in the bottom of the first inning. Brooklyn tacked on five more runs in the second inning to secure the five-inning victory. Senior third baseman,
Kayla Trembone, went 3-3 in the game while scoring a pair of runs, and driving in a pair of runs. Senior right fielder, Monica Prado Trembone went 1-3 with an 3 RBI single.
Brooklyn had big first inning in the second game, scoring seven runs in the bottom of the first. The Bulldogs added three more runs in the bottom of the second to put the game out-of-reach early on. Trembone was perfect in the second game as well, going 2-2 and scored a pair of runs. Senior outfielder,
Carolina Alfonso, also went 2-2 with a double and scored a run.
