Bulldogs Second Half Comeback Falls Short Against Hunter in CUNYAC Action

Brooklyn, NY----Trailing by 23 points at halftime, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team stormed back in the second half to pull within a point, but eventually fell to CUNYAC foe, Hunter College, 75-71, at the West Quad Center on Friday night.  Brooklyn drops to 3-12 overall and 1-4 in CUNYAC with the loss while Hunter moves to 5-11 and 2-3 respectively.  Next Up: BC continues their conference slate at CCNY on Wednesday at 7pm.

The Rundown
  • Down 68-51 with a little over 10 minutes to play in regulation, the Bulldogs went on an 18-2 run highlighted by a five point swing produced by junior guard, Malik Dale, on a made three and fastbreak layup.  A made three buried by sophomore guard, David McFadden, cut Hunter's lead down to 70-68, with 2:50 remaining.  After a stop on the defensive end, Elisha Park split a trip at the foul line to help the Bulldogs pull within a point with just under two minutes to play.  However, a Hawks' three on the ensuing possession put Brooklyn on their heels and Hunter eventually closed out the contest with a pair of makes from the charity stripe to close out the game.
  • Brooklyn buckled down on the defensive end in the second half, keeping to the Hawks to 27% shooting in the game's final 20 minutes.
Leading the Bulldogs
  • Park scored a game-high 30 points on 10-17 shooting from the field.
  • McFadden produced a double-double, finishing with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Leading the Hawks
  • Luka Jakic finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Jeremy Montrose also finished with 14 points and grabbed 7 boards.
