Purchase, NY----The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-21, 26-24, 25-23) non-conference match on the road at Purchase on Wednesday night. Brooklyn falls to 1-2 overall with the loss while the Panthers picked up their first win of the season to improve to 1-2. Next Up: The Bulldogs will look to bounce back on the road on Saturday in a non-conference trimatch at Widener University against Union CC and the host.
The Rundown
- BC fell behind 5-1 to start the match. Brooklyn would find themselves playing catchup the majority of the first set, but would eventually pull even with the Panthers, 20-20. However, the home team scored five of the next six points including a four-score rally.
- Trailing 23-17 in the second set, Brooklyn stormed back to cut the PC lead to 23-22 following a 5-0 run including a pair of kills put away by sophomore outside hitter, Zhao Ming Li. With the set tied 24-24, the Panthers took a 2-0 lead in the match on back-to-back scores.
- Brooklyn showed flashes of staging a comeback in the third set, grabbing a 17-13 lead following a five-point rally sparked by junior outside hitter, Armand Kaloshi. However, the Panthers used a late three-point rally to eventually close out the match.
- The Panthers served up 10 aces to the Bulldogs' 4 on the evening.
- Brooklyn finished with an advantage in kills, 30-27.

- Chris Posillico led a balanced offensive attack with 8 kills wile serving up 3 aces. He also came up with a match-high 14 digs.
- Marcus Garguilo and Luca Spadinger added 6 kills each.
