New York, NY---Despite being paced by
Kayin Olajide's game-high 17 points, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team fell to Baruch College, 74-62, on the road on Friday. Brooklyn drops to 3-16 overall and 1-8 in CUNYAC with the loss while the Bearcats improve to 15-5 and 7-2. Next Up: The Bulldogs will look to even the score with John Jay on the road on Tuesday at 8pm.
The Rundown
- Brooklyn jumped out to a 15-5 start to the contest. However, the Bearcats eventually responded with a 17-2 run to take a 25-20 lead with 3:12 to go in the first half. The home team would head into halftime with a 32-24 advantage.
- The Bearcats picked up where they loft off in the second half, leading by as many as 24 points with five minutes remaining in regulation. Brooklyn made a late push, but ran out of time.
- Baruch shot 47.5% from the floor including 43.5% from behind the arc as a team for the game.
Leading the Bulldogs
- Olajide shot 6-14 from the field while knocking down a pair of threes for his game-high in points. He also grabbed four boards and dished out three assists on the evening.
- Junior guard, Malik Dale, scored 13 points off of the bench while hitting three from behind the arc.
Leading Baruch
- Four Bearcats reached double-digit scoring led by Michael Gannon's 14 points.
- Jehmehl Fair added 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
