Brooklyn Drops Conference Game at John Jay

New York, NY----Despite a late second half effort, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team dropped a 73-59 decision at John Jay in conference play on Tuesday.  Brooklyn falls to 3-17 and 1-9 in CUNYAC with the loss while the Bloodhounds improve to 5-16 and 4-6 respectively.  Next Up: The Bulldogs continue their conference road swing at Lehman on Saturday at 12pm.  

The Rundown 
  • A back-and-forth contest through the first 7:30 of action, the Bulldogs grabbed a 16-12 on back-to-back Kayin Olajide scores.  However, the home team went on a 12-0 run over the next 10 minutes to take the lead for good.  
  • Trailing 31-19 at halftime, Brooklyn opened the second half with a 4-0 run on a pair of Olajide buckets from the field.  The Bloodhounds always seemed to have the answer as the Bulldogs wouldn't get any closer for the remainder of the game.  
  • John Jay shot a shade under 51% from the field for the game.  Brooklyn shot 6-12 from the foul line for the contest.

  • Olajide scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. 
  • Sophomore guard, Dvaid McFadden, added 15 points on 5-7 shooting from the field.  
Leading John Jay
  • Five Bloodhounds reached double-digit scoring led by Garrison Watkins' team-high 16 points.
  • Dan Kenny had the game's lone double-double, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
