Brooklyn, NY---Despite striking first with a made three-pointer in overtime, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team wasn't able keep the momentum going, eventually falling to John Jay, 76-69, in conference play at the West Quad Center on Tuesday. BC drops to 2-10 overall and 0-2 in CUNYAC with thd los while the Bloodhounds improve to 2-11 and 1-1. Next Up: Brooklyn will look to bounce back right down the road at Medgar Evers on Friday for another conference tilt at 8pm.
The Rundown
- BC sophomore guard, David McFadden, splashed a three to start the extra period, giving Brooklyn a 66-63 advantage in the first 25 seconds of overtime. The Bloodhounds responded with a 4-0 run to retake the lead 67-66 with 2:27 to go. Kayin Olajide gave Brooklyn their last lead following made three 20 seconds later. With the score tied, 69-69, John Jay closed out the contest on a 7-0 run.
- Trailing by a slim margin for most of the game, Brooklyn took their first lead of the contest 62-61 capping an 8-0 run with 1:45 left in regulation. Brooklyn would extend their run to 9 points, 63-61, before John Jay's Isaac Holmes tied the game with two made free-throws with nine seconds remaining in regulation. Brooklyn's game-winning shot in regulation fell short.
- Both teams struggled shooting from behind the arc on the night with Brooklyn finishing with a slight 24% to 22% edge.
