Brooklyn, NY----Following a gritty win at home on Saturday in their season opener, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team wasn't able to make it 2-0 to start the season, falling to Kean University, 80-49, on Wednesday at the West Quad Center. Brooklyn moves to 1-1 overall with the loss while the Cougars improve to 2-2 with the non-conference win.

How It Happened
- Kean opened the contest on a 5-0 run before BC stormed back with an 8-0 run produced by senior forward, Sarah James, on a pair of threes and a finish in the paint.
- With the score tied, 10-10 halfway through the first period, Kean took the lead for good beginning with a 12-0 run.
- Brooklyn cut the Cougar lead to as few as nine points following a made jumper buried by BC freshman guard, Anna Kitch. However, the Cougars kicked their advantage back up to 13 by halftime.
- Kean continued to build a comfortable lead throughout the second half to seal the contest.
- The Cougars shot 51.7% from the floor for the evening to the Bulldogs' 31.7%.
- Five Cougars scored in double figures on the evening led by Gissel Gamble's game-high 17 points.
