Salem, VA----The Brooklyn College men's basketball team dropped their first game of the Frankie Allen Tip-Off Tournament to host, Roanoke College, 77-55, on Friday night. Brooklyn falls to 0-4 to start the season while the Maroons improved to 2-1 with the non-conference victory.

How It Happened
- The Bulldogs hung in with the home team in the early goings, taking a 9-8 lead after a David McFadden made jumper with 16:23 left in the first half. However, their last lead of the contest didn't last long as the Maroons responded with a 5-0 run. Already leading 13-11, Roanoke went on a 14-0 for their first double-figure lead of the game and extended it to 28 points by halftime.
- Roanoke carried their momentum into the second half to lead by as many as 38 points at the 12:43 mark.
- Brooklyn showed some resilience toward the end of regulation, closing out the game on an 11-2 run.
- The Maroons outscored Brooklyn 25-10 in points off of turnovers. Brooklyn struggled from the free throw line as a team, shooting 9-17 as a team. BC finished with a slight 12-10 edge in second chance points.
- Roanoke's Zach Rosenthal scored a game-high 16 points while draining four of the home team's seven threes on the evening.
For the Bulldogs
- McFadden scored a team-high 12 points and grabbed four boards.
- Junior guard, Stephon McGill, chipped in 11 points to go along with five rebounds.
- Junior forward, Mekhi Barlow, grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds while scoring six points and coming up with a pair of steals.
