Brooklyn, NY----Reaching 1,000 points for her BC career, senior guard,
Ericka James, scored a team-high 15 points to lead the Brooklyn College women's basketball team to a 60-47 non-conference win against borough foe, St. Joseph's Brooklyn, on Tuesday. BC improves to 3-1 overall with the victory while the Bears drop to 1-4.

How It Happened
- Taking the lead from the opening tip-off, Brooklyn jumped out to a 11-2 advantage capped by a made three buried by Anna Kitch with 6:51 to go in the first quarter. The home team didn't pose much of a threat as Brooklyn would go on to lead by as many as 15 points in the first half before heading into halftime with a 34-20 advantage.
- Brooklyn continued their momentum into the second half and following a fast break layup finished by sophomore guard, Dior Dorsey, BC found themselves up 43-20 with 5:44 to go in the third quarter.
- The Bears would cut BC's lead to as few as ten points in the first minute of the fourth quarter. However, the Bulldogs responded with an 8-1 run including five straight points scored by James capped at the seven-minute mark. BC closed out the game with a double-figure lead from that point on.
- Brooklyn held the Bears to 2-13 shooting from behind the arc for the game and outscored St. Joe's 16-2 in second chance points.
For the Bulldogs
- Scoring her 1,000th point as a Bulldog on a free throw in the fourth quarter, James knocked down a pair of threes and grabbed five boards in the win.
- Junior guard, Alina Estrella, added 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double. She also came up with four steals.
- Senior forward, Sarah James, grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds to go along with scoring seven points.
