Brooklyn, NY---Led by junior outside hitter
Aleah Rafat's match-high 12 kills, the No. 4 seeded Brooklyn College women's volleyball team rolled to a 3-0 (25-8, 25-20, 25-15) sweep of No. 5 CCNY in the quarterfinals of the CUNYAC Championship Tournament on Tuesday in front of an enthusiastic West Quad Gymnasium crowd. Brooklyn improves to 12-12 with the win and advances to the semifinals of the conference tourney while the Beavers end their season with an 8-12 mark.

How It Happened
- Brooklyn came out of the gate on a tear, taking a 10-0 lead to start the match before closing out the opening set on a 6-0 run.
- CCNY didn't go away easily in the second. Clinging to a 22-20 lead, senior middle, Megan Ortiz-Mengedoht, had a block assist followed by a kill to give Brooklyn a 24-20 advantage.
- BC opened the third set with a four-score rally before taking a 7-2 lead on a kill put away by senior outside hitter, Ashley. The Beavers didn't have much of a response the rest of the way and after late 4-0 run, Brooklyn held a commanding 24-14 lead.
- The Bulldogs finished with a huge advantage in every statistical category including blocks, 9-2, and service aces, 11-2.
For the Bulldogs
- Rafat came close to a double-double on the evening, finishing with 8 digs. She also served up a pair of aces.
- Fung put away seven kills on the evening.
- Freshman middle, Olivia Fan, dominated at the net, finishing with four solo blocks and a pair of block assists.
- Senior setter, Katia Mercado, finished with a team-high 13 assists to go along with a match-high four service aces.
