Wayne, NJ----Despite a game-high 31 points poured in by junior guard,
Malik Dale, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team was outlasted in their season opener at William Paterson University on Wednesday, 70-66. WPU improves to 1-0 to start their season with the non-conference win. The Pioneers have been victorious in the last seven meetings with the Bulldogs.

How It Happened
- Down 19-11 with just under 12 minutes to play in the first half, Brooklyn went on a 16-2 run capped by a Zuric Harvey three-point make. Junior transfer, Stephon McGill, played a role in the run, scoring six points in the 8-minute span.
- WPU closed out the first half on an 8-0 run to take a 29-27 lead at the break.
- Trailing by as many as eight points in the second half, the Bulldogs went on an 8-0 run to tie the game at the 7-minute mark. Junior guard, David McFadden buried a three during the key run.
- With the Bulldogs leading 64-59 following a Dale three-point make with 3:44 to go in the game, the Pioneers responded with 10-0 to take the lead for good and eventually close out the contest.
- Four Pioneers scored in double-figures, led by MJ Moncrieffe's 20 points.
