Brooklyn, NY----In their second outing of a three-match homestand, the Brooklyn College men's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-18) decision to Hunter College in conference play at the West Quad Gymnasium on Thursday. BC falls to 5-11 overall and 1-6 in CUNYAC with the loss while the Hawks improve to 9-5 and 6-0 respectively. Next Up: The Bulldogs look to even the score with Medgar Evers on Saturday at the West Quad Gymnasium at 12pm.
How It Happened
- Hunter jumped out to a 9-1 lead to start the match, which kept the Bulldogs playing catchup the rest of the first set.
- The Hawks opened the second set on a 4-0 run before Brooklyn cut the lead to 8-4 following back-to-back Hunter errors. Already leading 12-7, the visitors rallied for ten straight scores to take a commanding lead and eventually close out the second set.
- Brooklyn didn't go away in the third set, jumping out to a 3-0 lead including consecutive kills put away by Tommy Min and Andres Vargas. Hunter responded with a 7-1 run to take the lead for good. Trailing 21-13, BC put together one more rally sparked by a kill and then an ace produced by Yinuo Zhang. However, the Hawks were able to prevent any more damage from that point on and closed out the match with a kill.
