Box Score 2 Jersey City, NJ----Brooklyn College softball dropped a pair of non-conference games on the road at New Jersey City University on Tuesday. BC fell in Game 1 of the doubleheader, 8-0 (5 Innings) before ending the afternoon with a 7-1 loss in Game 2 . The Bulldogs move to 3-3 overall with the losses while the Gothic Knights improved 6-4. Next Up: The Bulldogs will host St. Joseph's University Brooklyn in their Home Opener on Friday in a non-conference doubleheader starting at 4pm at BC Field.
How It Happened (Game 1)
- The home team scored six runs in the second inning and never looked back.
- NJCU starting pitcher, Sidnie Dabaddie (4-1), pitched all five innings, yielding just one BC hit, and striking out nine batters.
- Brooklyn had three costly errors for the game.
For the Bulldogs (Game 1)
- Sophomore infielder, Zoey Van Vleet, recorded Brooklyn's lone hit.
- BC starting pitcher, Danielle Guzzardi, moved to 3-2 with the loss, charged with only one earned run while striking out three NJCU batters.
How It Happened (Game 2)
- NJCU got on the board first in the third inning on an RBI ground out before tacking on three more runs in the fourth.
- Brooklyn scored their lone run in the top of the sixth inning as Van Vleet scored from second on a throwing error after walking with one out and stealing a base. However, the Gothic Knights padded their lead in the bottom of the sixth with three more runs on four hits.
For the Bulldogs (Game 2)
- Freshman outfielder, Isabelle Frank, smacked BC's only hit of the game.
