Bellerose, NY----The Brooklyn College softball team got themselves back in the win column with a pair of non-conference victories against York at the Padavan-Preller Fields on Wednesday.  BC scored a 16-0 (five innings) shutout in Game 1 before ending the afternoon with a 15-1 (five innings) Game 2 win.  Brooklyn improves to 5-12 overall with the wins while the Cardinals drop 1-12.  Next: The Bulldogs will meet the Cardinals again on Friday at Brooklyn College Field on Friday for a CUNYAC doubleheader beginning at 4pm.  

How It Happened (Game 1)

• The Bulldogs scored eight runs in the top of the first inning beginning with a 2-RBI triple cracked by senior infielder, Dasha Goodman, scoring Isabelle Frank and Melanie Milan.  Goodman picked up her third RBI of the inning on an RBI single that scored Millan.  
• Brooklyn's bats continued to roll in the second inning as they tacked on five more runs to their lead including a a 2-RBI double hit by Frank, scoring Milan and freshman outfielder, Sandra Diaz.  The Bulldogs added a run in the third inning before Diaz hit a 2-RBI single to score Jendry Maria and pitcher, Danielle Guzzardi, in the fifth. 
•  BC finished with 12 hits and walked 16 times for the game.  

For the Bulldogs (Game 1)

• Guzzardi hurled all five innings of perfect softball and struck out 12 York batters, earning her fourth win of the season. She also scored three runs offensively. 
• Goodman went 3-3 with 3 RBI. 
• Diaz went 2-2 with 2 RBI.  
• Frank was 2-4 with 3 RBI. 
• Millan walked four times and scored three runs.  

How It Happend (Game 2)

• BC opened the game with a seven-run first inning highlighted by a 2-RBI triple hit by junior infielder, Yesileidy Paulino, and a 3-RBI double hit by Millan.  
• After scoring a run in the second inning, Brooklyn added three more runs in the third inning including a Paulino RBI single that scored freshman catcher, Kaitlyn Belfield.  
• BC added three more runs in the fourth inning highlighted by a 2-RBI double hit by Goodman.  

For the Bulldogs (Game 2)

• Guzzardi earned her second win of the day after pitching four innings, yielding three hits.  York's lone run was unearned.  
• Paulino went 3-3 and had 4 RBI. 
• Millan went 2-5 with 3 RBI.  
• Belfield and senior outfielder, Crystal Alvarado, scored three runs each.
