BC Softball Falls in Both Games of a Non-Conference Doubleheader to Mt. St. Vincent

Brooklyn College Field---The Brooklyn College softball team dropped both games of non-conference doubleheader at home on Monday to the College of Mt. St. Vincent.  BC was outlasted 7-0 in Game 1 before falling to the Dolphins, 15-0 (Five Innings), in Game 2 of the double bill.  Brooklyn moves to 3-10 overall with the losses while CMSV improves to 11-6.  Next Up: The Bulldogs open CUNYAC play at home on Friday against John Jay with the conference doubleheader beginning at 4pm on BC Field.  

How It Happened (Game 1)
  • The visitors got on the board in the top of the first on a one hit and a pair of costly errors.  
  • Brooklyn settled in defensively despite the Dolphins adding a run in the third and fourth innings. 
  • The Bulldogs had a quick two-out rally beginning with back-to-back singles hit by Aleah Rafat and Isabelle Frank respectively.  However, the rally was cut rally was cut short and they would be left stranded on second and first.  
For the Bulldogs (Game 1)
  • Senior infielder, Dasha Good man had the Bulldogs third base hit of the game.  
  • Despite the loss in the circle, sophomore pitcher, Danielle Guzzardi went all seven innings and struck out seven batters.  
How It Happened (Game 2)
  • CMSV jumped out early again in the first inning, scoring three runs on one hit and an error.  
  • The Dolphin bats came alive in the third inning as the visitors scored five runs on four hits and an error.  
  • After a scoreless fourth inning, the Dolphins tacked on seven more runs on two hits and two errors.  
  • CMSV starting pitcher, Katie Hutter, earned her third win of the season, shutting out the Bulldogs, yielding two hits while striking out eight batters. 
For the Bulldogs (Game 2)
  • Yesileidy Paulino and Yoanna Cohetero had BC's hits for the game.
