Brooklyn Men’s Volleyball Falls at John Jay in Regular Season Finale

New York, NY----The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team dropped their regular season finale, 3-0 (25-13, 25-13, 25-21),   on Thursday in conference play at John Jay.  BC moves to 8-15 overall and 4-10 in CUNYAC with the loss while the Bloodhounds improve to 17-9 (9-4 CUNYAC).  Next Up: The teams will meet again on Tuesday, April 11, at No. 3 John Jay in the quarterfinals of the CUNYAC Championship as Brooklyn enters as the No. 6 seed.  Opening serve is set for 7pm. 
 
How It Happened
  • Played evenly early in the opening set, the home team went on a 9-0 run to take command of the set. 
  • The Bloodhounds jumped out to a 4-1 advantage in the second and kept a comfortable lead the rest of the way to take a 2-0 lead in the match. 
  • Falling behind 11-6 in the third set, the Bulldogs were resilient and cut the John Jay lead to 15-13 following a kill put away by junior outside hitter, Tommy Min.  The Bulldogs hung around, but weren't able to extend a rally that would help them pull even with the Bloodhounds.
 
Box Score Breakdown
  • The home team was more efficient on the evening finishing with 10 errors to the Bulldogs 32.
  • John Jay finished with five solo blocks and 14 assisted blocks while BC ended the match with four block assists. 
 
Leading the Bulldogs
  • Min finished with a team-high eight kills. 
  • Sophomore setter, David Lema, finished with 18 assists and served up a pair of aces. 
  • Junior middle, Armand Kaloshi, and sophomore middle, Aziz Abdusamiev, had a pair of block assists each.
