Bulldogs' Late Attack Comes Up Short at Old Westbury

Old Westbury, NY----Playing their first complete match since September 1 due to weather related postponements, the Brooklyn College men's soccer dropped a 2-1 decision in non-conference play at Old Westbury on Wednesday.  Brooklyn moves to 0-2 with the loss while the Panthers improve to 2-2.

  • The Bulldogs will look to bounce back at home on Saturday, September 16 against Purchase College in the second part of a soccer doubleheader at Brooklyn College Field at 3pm. 
How It Happened
  • The home team struck first in the final seconds of the first half to take 1-0 lead. 
  • Halfway through the second period, the Panthers padded their lead with their second goal of the contest. 
  • Brooklyn attacked late, avoiding the shutout on a goal scored by junior forward, Jasper Ehrhardt, in 79' for his first as a Bulldog.  Freshman midfielder, Rayan Vukovic, would be credited with the assist.  Vukovic managed a header with three minutes to go in the match that went wide. 
  • Old Westbury finished with 11 shots-on-goal for the match to the Bulldogs' four. 
For the Bulldogs
  • Ehrhardt fired off five shots for the match with three on-frame. 
  • Vukovic finished with four shots including one that was saved. 
  • Junior goalie, Hady Bakry, finished with nine saves in all 90 minutes of play.
