Bulldogs Roll in CUNYAC Battle of Brooklyn

Brooklyn, NY---Improving to 3-2 in conference play, the Brooklyn College women's volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 (25-4, 25-5, 25-13) CUNYAC victory Medgar Evers at the West Quad Center on Tuesday night.  BC moves to 4-5 overall with the win while the Cougars drop to 0-9 overall and 0-4 against CUNYAC opponents.

  • The Bulldogs host John Jay on Thursday, 9/28, in an additional non-conference match against the CUNYAC foe at 6pm. 
  • Thursday is Fan Appreciation night and the first 100 fans will receive a FREE Brooklyn College Athletics t-shirt!
How It Happened
  • Brooklyn jumped out to a 12-1 lead in the first set and never looked back. 
  • The Bulldogs closed out the second set on an eight-score rally capped by a kill put away by freshman right side, Kela Duncan. 
  • With the score tied 4-4 to start the third set, Brooklyn went on a 6-0 run and pulled away from that point on to finish the match. 
  • BC served up 25 aces on the evening.
For the Bulldogs
  • Junior outside hitter, Aleah Rafat, led the way on the attack, finishing with a match-high 8 kills to go along with 5 service aces. 
  • Juniors, Sydney Gdanski and Katia Mercado, served up 7 aces each. 
  • Sophomore libero, Emma Steele, came up with a team-high 8 digs.
