Brooklyn, NY----The Brooklyn College women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 (25-15, 21-25, 25-11, 25-18) decision to John Jay on Thursday at the West Quad Center in an additional non-conference match against the CUNYAC member. BC moves to 4-6 with the loss while the Bloodhounds improve 10-2. The Bulldogs will travel to John Jay on October 12 for their conference match.

- The Bulldogs will play in the inaugural Battle of Brooklyn at Pratt on Saturday to take on St. Joseph's Brooklyn at 1pm followed by the host at 3pm.
How It Happened
- The Bulldogs fell behind 7-2 in the opening set and were never really able to string together a rally for a comeback.
- Brooklyn came alive in the second set, jumping out to an 11-4 advantage. Junior outside hitter, Aleah Rafat led the charge with four kills during BC's six-score rally. John Jay chipped away at the Bulldogs' lead to trail 24-21 down the stretch. Junior outside hitter, Sydney Gdanski, tied the match on a kill.
- With the scored tied 11-11 to start the third set, the visitors went on a 14-0 run to take a 2-1 lead in the match.
- The fourth set mirrored the third with Brooklyn clinging to a 12-11 lead before the Bloodhounds strung together eight unanswered points. John Jay closed out the match on back-to-back scores.

- Rafat finished with a team-high 10 kills and 13 digs.
- Gdanski added 7 kills.
- Junior setter, Katia Mercado, served up a team-high 4 aces.
