Late Comeback Falls Short for Brooklyn Against Baruch

Brooklyn, NY----Despite a hot start and late comeback, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team dropped an 80-67 decision in conference play to Baruch on Tuesday at the West Quad Center.  Brooklyn drops to 4-15 overall and 4-4 in CUNYAC with the loss while the Bearcats improve to 12-7 and 8-0 respectively.

How It Happened
  • Brooklyn stormed out to an 8-2 lead to start the contest including back-to-back three-point makes buried by Malik Dale. Baruch would respond with a 9-0 run to take the lead, which they wouldn't relinquish for the remainder of the contest.  
  • Baruch would head into halftime with a nine-point advantage after a 5-0 run to close out the first half.  Prior to the run, Brooklyn's Luqman Ahmed knocked down a three to cut the Bearcats' lead to 30-26 with 1:26 to go in the first half.  
  • Trailing by double-figures the majority of the second half, Brooklyn got th deficit down to six points following a 6-0 flurry capped by a Dale three.  However, the Bearcats were able to kick their lead by up to as many as 15 points in the next six minutes of play to secure the victory.  
  • The Bearcats shot 51.9% from the floor as a team to the Bulldogs' 36.8%.  Four Bearcats scored in double-figures on the night.  
For the Bulldogs
  • Dale finished with a game-high 24 points while connecting on 6-10 from beyond the arc.  
  • Mekhi Barlow and Aaron Davis contributed nine points and four rebounds each.
