NEW YORK, New York ----- Despite a valiant effort in the first half, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team dropped their first conference game of the season, falling to Baruch College on Wednesday, 89-52. Brooklyn will have another opportunity against the reining conference champs at home on January 23. The Bulldogs move to 1-1 in CUNYAC and 1-12 overall while the Bearcats move to 2-0 and 6-7 respectively.

Six minutes into the game, the game was even 6-6, but the Bearcats began to pull away with a 19-5 run to go up 25-11 with 11:36 left in the first half.

With about two minutes remaining, the Bulldogs would pull in within nine, but the Bearcats would go up 48-34 at the half.
