BC Drops First Conference Game on the Road to Baruch

NEW YORK, New York ----- Despite a valiant effort in the first half, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team dropped their first conference game of the season, falling to Baruch College on Wednesday,  89-52. Brooklyn will have another opportunity against the reining conference champs at home on January 23.  The Bulldogs move to 1-1 in CUNYAC and 1-12 overall while the Bearcats move to 2-0 and 6-7 respectively.

  • The Brooklyn College men's basketball team comes back home to face Lehman College on Friday, January 5 at 7:15pm 

How it Happened: 

  • Six minutes into the game, the game was even 6-6, but the Bearcats began to pull away with a 19-5 run to go up 25-11 with 11:36 left in the first half.

  • With about two minutes remaining, the Bulldogs would pull in within nine, but the Bearcats would go up 48-34 at the half.

  • With only 13:06 left in the game, the Bearcats would go up by twenty-five by a score of 61-36, a 13-2 run.  

  • The Bearcats would go on an 18-0 run, with the Bulldogs staying at 49 for about six minutes straight, eventually winning 89-52.  

  • On a more positive note, the Bulldogs were able to secure more second chance points, outscoring the Bearcats 15-10. 

For the Bulldogs: 

  • Malik Dale led the way as a starter with 13 points, 2 rebounds and a steal.

  • Aaron Davis came off the bench to knock down 10 points, 1 rebound, and 1 steal.

  • David McFadden led the way in rebounding with 7 boards and adding 7 points.
  • Luqman Ahmed also added 7points off the bench and 4 rebounds.
