BROOKLYN, New York ---- Despite answering the call with a number of big shots down the stretch, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team fell in a thriller at he West Quad Center to Lehman, 70-67, on Friday.  The Bulldogs drop to 1-13 overall with a 1-2 conference record, while the Lehman College Lightning improve to 6-6 and remain undefeated in conference play with a 3-0 record.

• The Bulldogs will stay at home and continue conference play against the Hunter College Hawks on Wednesday, January 10 at 7:15pm. 

How It Happened: 

• Lehman would jump to an 8-0 run in the first two minutes of the game, which would end up being their largest lead throughout the half. 

• The Bulldogs would linger around throughout the half, not going down by more than eight points, eventually tying the game at 29-29 with 3:14 left in the half. 

• A driving layup by Malik Dale plus a foul would give the Bulldogs their first lead of the game to go up 32-31 with 2:23 to go in the first half. 

• The Lightning went on a 6-0 run to end the half, taking a 37-32 lead at halftime. 

• Lehman College would continue that momentum, going up by as much as eleven points, their largest lead of the game, with 15:28 left in the game. 

• With 9:34 left in the game, the Bulldogs would tie the game up at 47-47, and taking the lead 50-49 with 8:31 to go, a pattern that would result in 6 lead changes and 8 times that the score was tied throughout the entire game. 

• Lehman would go on an 8-0 run again to take a 57-50 lead, before Brooklyn would go on a 9-2 run of their own, one that included 3 three-pointers, to tie the game at 59-59 with 3:30 to go. 

• With 2:46 to go in the game and down 62-59, Brooklyn's Aaron Davis hit an electrifying four-point play to put the Bulldogs up 63-62. 

• After another sequence of ties and lead changes, Lehman's Jayden Stephens would hit the dagger in what would be the deciding shot that left only five seconds on the clock. 

• The story of this game came down to losing the battle with points in the paint, 34 for the Lightning to the Bulldogs' 20, and the turnovers, as Brooklyn would turn the ball over 20 times to Lehman's 7. The Bulldogs also failed to score any fast break points in the second half. 

For the Bulldogs: 

• Malik Dale led the way with 23 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal while shooting 6-of-10 from three-point range. 

• Aaron Davis was a perfect 6-for-6 at the free throw line, attaining 14 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. 

• Stephon McGill led the team in rebounding with 9 boards and assists with 4, while also scoring 7 points in the game.
