Jersey City, NJ----Earning their fourth straight victory, the Brooklyn College women's volleyball team pulled out a 3-1 (25-22, 25-21, 18-25, 25-20) non-conference win at New Jersey City University on Thursday. BC improves to 9-8 with the win while NJCU drops to 9-10. Next Up: Brooklyn returns to CUNYAC action at home on Tuesday, 10/15, at 6pm at the West Quad Gymnasium.
How It Happened
- With the score tied, 22-22, in the first set, Brooklyn rallied for three straight scores capped by an Aleah Rafat kill to take a 1-0 advantage in the match. Clinging to a 9-8 lead in the second set, Brooklyn created a comfortable separation with a 5-0 run sparked by a Rafat kill. NJCU wouldn't give up their home advantage easily as they used a six-point rally late in the third set to cut BC's lead to 3-1. Trailing 9-8, Brooklyn went on a 5-0 run sparked by a Danielle Fuxman kill and capped by an Emma Steele ace to take the lead for good and evetually close out the match.
- Brooklyn hit .133 to the Gothic Knights' .108 for the match. The Bulldogs also finished with a 4-1 advantage in blocks and an 11-8 edge in service aces.

- Rafat finished with a season-high 22 kills and 12 digs.
- Fuxman chipped in 7 kills to go along with a block assist.
- Steele served up a match-high 4 aces.
- Amra Mulic set for 11 assists and came up with 13 digs.
- Sydney Gdanski also finished with a double-double on the evening with 10 assists and 12 digs.
