BROOKLYN, New York
---Netting five second half goals, the Brooklyn College men's soccer team cruised to a 7-0 shutout of York College at home on Saturday. BC improves to 4-9-1 overall and 3-2-1 in CUNYAC with the win while the Cardinals drop to 1-11-1 and 0-6 respectively.
Brooklyn would start it off early with an attack from the left side thanks to a cross from
Benedick Augustin.
Bradlej Cupi would control the pass with his chest, tapping it out to a running
Yasin Elsammak, who would shoot a rocket from outside the box to make it 1-0 in 6'.
The Bulldogs would continue to put the pressure, as
George Koufos would find Augustin with a pass from the backfield, allowing Augustin to do a sombrero over the defender and put it away with a header, making it 2-0 in 24'.
With the first half ending at 2-0,
Bruno Servisi, who had taken 3 of his 4 shots u[ to this point in the game, would make his impact elsewhere in the passing category, starting a give-and-go combination with a through ball to Adam Moharan. The triangle of players would eventually find Koufos inside the box to tap it in 3-0 in 59'.
Augustin would score once again, as
Emir Imamberdiev would come off the bench to lead the attack on the left side with a through ball that Elsammak would quickly pass inside the box and make it 4-0 in 62'.
Yasin Elsammak would lead the attack with 7 shots, 3 clear shots, to go along with his 1 goal and 1 assist.
Moharan would get his 2nd assist, controlling possession inside the box before passing it out quickly to Imamberdiev, who had no hesitation to launch it into the top right corner for the 5-0 score in 66'.
Hairane would step into the midfield to find Koufos inside the box, who made the unselfish play to a cutting
Adan Khodorkovsky from the right side to make it 6-0 in 75'.
George Koufos would have 1 goal, 1 assists, and 5 shots, 2 of which were on goal.
As everybody on the team began to come onto the field from the bench, they took full advantage of it, as
Sadeek Brown would find
Mohammed Alghanimi minutes into stepping onto the grass, ending it 7-0 in 79'.
Besides having 2 goals, 1 assist, 5 shots, 3 on target,
Benedick Augustin would also have 1 celebration that he got to do twice for the first time this season, getting Brooklyn back on track in conference play.
