BC Men's Soccer Improves to 2-0 in CUNYAC with Win Over Hunter, 2-1

Randall's Island, NY----Improving to 2-0 in CUNYAC play, the Brooklyn College men's soccer team pulled out a 2-1 conference win over Hunter College on the road on Saturday.  Brooklyn moves 3-7 overall with the key victory while the Hawks drop to 2-7-1 and 0-2 in CUNYAC with the loss.  Next Up: Brooklyn looks to keep their momentum going in conference play as they return home after an extended road stretch to host Lehman College at BC Field on Wednesday, 10/9, at 4pm.  

How It Happened
  • Brooklyn got on the board first thanks to an own goal inadvertently knocked in by a Hunter defender in 17'.  
  • The Hawks managed to get back in the match, scoring the equalizer on a Saleel Eldin goal in 26'.  
  • With the score still tied, 1-1, Brooklyn sophomore midfielder, George Koufos, converted a penalty kick for the game-winner in 73'.  
  • Brooklyn controlled the offensive action the majority of the contest, out-shooting the Hawks 18-9 for the match.  
For the Bulldogs
  • Koufos took a pair of shots for the match.  
  • Bruno Servisi had a pair of shots both saved by the Hunter keeper.  
  • Seif Mokhtar took three shots on the afternoon including one that was on-frame.  
  • Senior goalie, Hady Bakry, earned the win finishing with four saves while playing all 90 minutes.
