New York, NY----Rolling to their third straight win, the Brooklyn College women's volleyball team swept CCNY, 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-10), in conference play on the road on Tuesday. Brooklyn improves to 8-8 overall and 2-1 in CUNYAC with the victory while the Beavers drop to 1-10 and 1-2 respectively. Next Up: Brooklyn returns to their non-conference slate at New Jersey City University on Thursday at 7pm.
How It Happened
- Despite falling behind 2-0 to start the match, Brooklyn rallied for six straight scores including back-to-back aces served up Ruti Joshi to take a 7-3 lead and control the rest of the first set from that point on. The Bulldogs continued to establish themselves in the second set, jumping out to an 8-3 lead before taking a 2-0 advantage in the match. Brooklyn got out to a 6-1 lead capped by back-to-back kills put away by Aleah Rafat and Sydney Gdanski and never looked back to close out the match in three sets.
- Brooklyn served up 10 aces to the Beavers four on the evening.
For the Bulldogs
- Rafat led the way with a match-high 15 kills and nine digs.
- Freshman outside hitter, Danielle Fuxman, chipped in 5 kills and a block assist.
- Joshi finished with 20 digs to go along with 7 aces.
- Gdanski had a solid all-around outing with 3 kills, 12 digs, and 3 service aces.
