Montclair, NJ---Despite a displaying resilience in the third set, the Brooklyn College women's volleyball wasn't able to hold off Montclair State, eventually falling to the Red Hawks, 3-0, in non-conference play on Saturday. BC moves to 12-13 overall with the loss while Montclair improves to 18-6. Next Up: Brooklyn wraps up the regular season with a key conference match on Senior Night against Baruch on Tuesday, 11/5, at 6pm.
How It Happened
- The home team took control of the first set from the opening serve, jumping out to a 7-1 lead and rolling from there, 25-13.
- Brooklyn battled early in the second set, tying it, 8-8, after back-to-back kills put away by Kela Duncan. However, the Red Hawks used a five-score rally to eventually extend their lead to 18-11 before going up 2-0 in the match, 25-12.
- The Bulldogs go away easily as they grabbed a 22-19 lead down the stretch in the third set following a kill put away by Dinora Gomez. BC would go up 23-20 before Montclair State ended the match on a five-score rally.
- MSU hit .280 for the match to the Bulldogs' -.043. BC was the better team at the net, finishing with four blocks to the Red Hawks' two.

- Aleah Rafat led the way offensively with a match-high 10 kills to go along with 8 digs on the other side of the net. She now needs 18 kills kills to reach 1000 for her career.
- Gomez finished with 3 kills to go along with 9 digs.
- Olivia Fan and Meadow Andrews had a pair of block assists each.
