BC Men's Basketball Tripped Up at Rivier

Nashua, NH----Looking for their first win in the last three games, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team wasn't quite able to find an offensive rhythm on the road on Saturday, falling at Rivier University, 90-63.  BC drops to 1-5 overall with the non-conference loss while the Raiders improved to 5-1.  Next Up: The Bulldogs will have an opportunity to snap their three-game-skid at home on Tuesday, 11/26, as they host USMMA-Kings Point at 7pm at the West Quad Gymnasium.  

How It Happened
  • After the Bulldogs jumped out to a 4-1 lead to start the game, the home team buckled down and went on a 16-4 run to grab a 19-8 advantage with 12:04 to go in the first half.  The Raiders extended their lead to as many as 19 points in the first half before Brooklyn chipped away and cut it down to 40-27 by halftime.
  • Scoring the last bucket for Brooklyn in the first half, Stephon McGill scored the first basket in the second, helping BC cut the Rivier lead to 40-29 in the first 20 seconds of the half.  However, the Raiders eventually responded with a 14-4 spurt to put the game out of reach for the Bulldogs.  Rivier would go on to lead by as many as 28 points in the final six minutes of play.  
  • Rivier shot an impressive 50% (16-32) from behind the arc to the Bulldogs' 20% (3-15).  The Raiders' Matt Constant led all scorers' with 25 points while knocking down seven threes on the afternoon.  
For the Bulldogs 
  • Senior guard, Malik Dale, paced Brooklyn with 15 points on 6-12 shooting from the floor.  
  • Senior guard, Serge Thraysbule, also reached double-figures in scoring with 10 points.  He also grabbed 4 rebounds on the afternoon.
