Brooklyn Shuts Down SUNY Poly in Last Home Game of 2024

Brooklyn, NY----Holding their opponent to 15.8% shooting on the evening, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team cruised to a 68-28 non-conference win over SUNY Polytechnic on Friday evening at the West Quad Center.  BC improves to 5-4 overall with the victory while the Wildcats drops to 1-6.  Next Up: The Bulldogs head across the country to California just before the New Year where they will take on Chapman University on 12/28 and Whittier College on 12/30.  

How It Happened
  • The Bulldogs jumped out to a 14-2 lead in the first five minutes of play, which included three three-point makes buried by Anna Kitch.  Brooklyn continued their dominance through the first quarter, grabbing a 20-5 lead heading into the second. 
  • Brooklyn kept control through through the second quarter.  Mary Dolgin gave the Bulldogs a 36-13 halftime lead on a make in the paint on an assist from Sandra Diaz.  
  • Yielding just five Wildcat points in the third quarter, Brooklyn rolled into the fourth with a 51-18 advantage.  BC finished the game with their largest lead of the contest.  
  • Brooklyn capitalized on 33 points off of 32 Poly turnovers.  
  • 11 different Bulldogs scored on the evening.  
For the Bulldogs
  • Kitch led all scorers with 13 points while draining three threes on the evening.  She also grabbed 9 rebounds and came up with 2 steals.  
  • Senior guard, Alina Estrella, added 11 points and dished out 4 assists.  
  • Dolgin chipped in 8 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.  
  • Diaz and freshman forward, Danae McMullen, scored 8 points off of the bench.  McMullen also came up with 3 steals.
