Orange, CA---In their first of two games being played in California of the semester break, the Brooklyn College women's basketball fell at Chapman University, 94-60, on Saturday. BC moves to 5-5 overall with the non-conference loss while the Panthers improve to 5-6. The Bulldogs close out their trip with another conference tilt at Whittier College on Monday at 7pm PT.
How It Happened
- Brooklyn scored the first bucket of the contest for their only lead of the game, 2-0, before the home team responded with a 13-0 run. Chapman closed out the first quarter with a 26-11 advantage.
- The Bulldogs battled back in the second quarter, cutting the Panther lead to as few as four points on two separate occasions including as late as with 5:46 to go in the first half. Chapman closed out the first half on a 12-0 run for a 50-31 haltime lead.
- Chapman took complete control in the second half, leading by as many as 39 points in the final 20 minutes of action.
- Four Panthers reached double-figures in scoring led by Maile Nakaji's game-high 24 points.
For the Bulldogs
- Senior guard, Alina Estrella, paced BC offensively with a team-high 10 points. She also came up with 2 steals on the other side of the ball.
- Senior forward, Aleah Rafat, scored 9 points off of the bench.
- Junior guard, Anna Kitch, chipped in 8 points and grabbed a team-high 9 rebounds.
