New York, NY----Playing for first place in the conference standings, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team took care of business by defeating John Jay, 74-63, on the road on Saturday. Sweeping the regular season series with the Bloodhounds, Brooklyn moves to 13-7 and 8-2 in CUNYAC with the win while John Jay drops to 13-7 and 7-2 respectively.

How It Happened
- The Bulldogs outscored the Bloodhounds 23-12 in the second quarter to take a 40-25 halftime lead. Junior forward, Aleah Rafat, scored seven points during the quarter including a three-point make that gave BC a 27-15 advantage with 7:15 remaining in the first half.
- Brooklyn maintained a double-digit lead the entire second half, responding to any John Jay spurt.
- The Bulldogs shot 43.5% (10-23) from beyond the arc as a team while limiting John Jay to 1-14 for the afternoon.
For the Bulldogs
- Four players reach double-figures in scoring led by Alina Estrella's team-high 14 points. She also grabbed seven boards and dished out four assists for the game.
- Sophomore guard, Anna Kitch, scored 12 points on 4-8 shooting from three-point range. She added six rebounds and a pair of steals to her line for the game.
- Rafat finished with a season-high 12 points while knocking down 2-3 from behind the arc.
- Ericka James added 11 points while knocking down a pair from beyond the arc.
