Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

BC Comes Up Short in Five-Set Encounter

BROOKLYN, New York ----- Coming into Saturday afternoon's game, the Brooklyn College men's volleyball team looked to get back on the right track and avenge their previous loss against their conference opponents in the John Jay Bloodhounds. Although their last encounter was not as competitive, this one proved to be the complete opposite. Despite the competitiveness, Brooklyn would come up short despite their valiant effort, even holding the lead at one point to go down in a hard five sets. (16-25, 25-22, 25-22, 21-25, 11-15) Brooklyn falls to 7-13 overall and 3-6 in the conference, while John Jay improves to 12-5 overall and 6-2 in CUNYAC play.

Up Next:

The Bulldogs stay at home to face another conference opponent in the Lehman College Lightning on Tuesday, March 19 at 6pm.

  • The third set had the Bloodhounds up for most of it, but the Bulldogs would rally back to tie it thanks to a kill from Aaron Siu assisted by David Lema.
  • With the third set netted at 14-14, Brooklyn's Aziz Abdusamiev would explode defensively making three key blocks to turn the tide and take a commanding 19-14, ultimately closing it out 25-22.
  • In the fourth set, it was the Bulldogs that would keep building momentum, but despite that, the Bloodhounds would tie it and take a 18-15 lead and never looked back despite the Bulldogs lingering around, taking it 25-21.
