BC Women's Soccer Plays to 1-1 Draw at St. Elizabeth

Morristown, NJ---Trailing 1-0 with under a minute left in the match, the Brooklyn College women's soccer team was able to pull out a 1-1 draw at St. Elizabeth on Tuesday as freshman midfielder, Chelsea Gonzalez, scored the equalizer with 19 seconds left to play.  Brooklyn moves to 0-1-1 with the tie while the Eagles go to 0-0-1 in their season opener.  Next Up: Brooklyn remains on the road as they travel to Purchase on Friday for a 4pm kickoff.  

How It Happened
  • Prior to Gonzalez's heroics, the Bulldogs were putting the pressure on the home team with shot opportunities taken by freshman midfielder Audrey Jane Young in 76' and junior midfielder, Sage Bernstein in 82'.  
  • Brooklyn finished with a 14-13 shot advantage over the home team for the match including 7-5 in shots on-frame.  
  • The Bulldogs out-shot the Eagles 10-2 in the second half.  
  • SEU's Laila Kendle scored the match's first goal in 34'. 
For the Bulldogs
  • Both of Gonzalez's shots for the match were on-goal.  
  • Bernstein managed three shots with a pair saved by the keeper. 
  • Freshman goalie, April Hartje, finished with four saves.
