Throggs Neck, NY---The Brooklyn College women's volleyball team got off on the right foot on Tuesday, rolling to a 3-0 (25-21, 26-24, 25-13) non-conference sweep in their Season Opener at Maritime.  Maritime moves to 0-3 with the loss.  Next Up: Brooklyn is right back at it on Wednesday as they host their Home Opener at the West Quad Center against USMMA at 7pm.  

How It Happened

• With the score tied 18-18 in the first set, Brooklyn rattled off six straight scores to take a commanding 24-18 lead down the stretch capped by a kill put away by senior outisde hitter, Sydney Gdanski. 
• Trailing 24-22 in the second set, Brooklyn rallied for four straight scores ending with a clutch ace served up by junior defensive specialist, Emma Steele.  
• Brooklyn cruised in the third set, jumping out to an 11-0 advantage and never looked back.  
• BC was the more dominant team at the net, finishing with seven blocks to the Privateers' three.  

For the Bulldogs

• Senior outside hitter, Aleah Rafat, led the way with a match-high 10 digs, six digs, and three service aces.  
• Gdanski finished with seven kills and three digs.  
• Junior middle, Ayatallah Elkotby, put away six kills and four blocks (1 solo).
