BC Men's Basketball Struggles With Lehman On the Road

Bulldogs Can't Buy A Conference Win, Continue to Struggle With Lightning

THE BRONX, New York ------ Coming into Friday night's conference game, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team faced one of their longest droughts in recent years, failing to beat their opponents, the Lehman College Lightning, in six years. The past eleven games have all gone in favor of Lehman, and unfortunately, this one was no different, as the Bulldogs would fall apart, after putting up a bit of a fight in the beginning of the first half, by a score of 92-59.

The Brooklyn College Bulldogs (4-9, 0-3 CUNYAC) continue to look for their first conference win of the season, while the Lehman College Lightning (9-5, 3-0 CUNYAC) remain undefeated in conference play.

How It Happened

Brooklyn would jump to an early 5-0 lead in the first minute of the game, but Lehman would put up a fight to tie it and take a 12-11 lead with 14:21 left in the first half.

The Lightning and Bulldogs would trade leads back and forth, eventually tying it at 15-15 with 12:08 in the first half after a jumper by Malik Dale. However, the Lightning's 12-1 run would be what helped separate them ahead 27-16 with 8:02 to go in the half, eventually taking a 51-30 lead at the half.

Brooklyn would still continue to fight on, but Lehman wold further distance themselves with an 8-0 run that would put them up 86-54 with 3:34 to go.

It became to large of a lead to overcome in such little time, taking a 92-59 loss away from home.

For the Bulldogs

  • Malik Dale led in scoring with 16 pints, 1 rebound, 3 assists, and 1 steal.
  • Joe Charles would be right behind him with 13 points, 1 rebound, and 1 steal shooting 3-for-6 from deep.
  • Serge Thrasybule would shoot an efficient 4-for-5 to attain 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.
